Dewey Weber by Jerry Derloshon

Dewey Weber
The Biography of a Surfing Legend

Founded in 1960 and continuing still, Dewey Weber Surfboards will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2010. In commemoration of the anniversary, and in honor of its founder, an authorized biography of Dewey Weber is underway. The author, a lifelong surfer and close family friend of Caroline, Shea, Stacey, and Corey will be interviewing and hearing from old friends of Dewey's and others in the surf industry. Jerry Derloshon is the author of several books including The Success Merchants (Prentice Hall) and a biography of pioneering heart surgeon Viking O. Bjork of Sweden. Readers' comments, input, anecdotes, inspiration, and encouragement are all welcome.

Dear Jerry,
This is grand news! Oh, what wonderful times I had as a member of the Dewey Weber Surf Team...loved those magic boards.
To this day when I smell resin, I am taken back to the early days of working in Dewey's shop in Venice, not to mention, the wonderful "weber" surf sessions after work at Malibu and Latigo. It was quite a time. I sooo look forward to the book. Thank you for doing this.

This is a great idea! He's a legand, and an instrumental part of surf culture. I can't wait to read about his life!
